Samsung Announced their first Tizen phone
Samsung after a long time has eventually launched their first Tizen OS smartphone called, the Samsung Z. It will go on sale in Russia later in the year.
Samsung have already used the Tizen OS on their smartwatches and cameras but not for smartphones which is run by Android.
Samsung said that the "Samsung Z" is a premium smartphone. However, based on the specs their flagship Galaxy S5 has better specs.
The Samsung Z comes in a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display 1280x720 pixels. It runs on Tizen 2.2.1. and comes with LTE support. The smartphone is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage and an expandable microSD slot.
It has a 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. It has fingerprint scanner, power-saving mode, download booster, and heart rate sensor like the Samsung Galazy S5. Download booster use both LTE and wi-fi connectivity to speed up downloads. The phone is powered by 2,600 mAh battery. Samsung Z weigh 136g.
The Samsung Z is not waterproof and dustproof, unlike the Samsung Galazy S5.
Samsung said that the new phone is fast and has optimal performance with improved memory management that has faster startup times and ability to multitask with ease.
The Samsung Z support 2D and 3D graphics which has excellent performance. It also has smooth scrolling and upgraded rendering performance when it comes to browsing the internet.
The phone will be showcased at the Tizen Developer Conference, San Francisco from 3 June. It comes in 2 colors, black and gold.
