Acer's Latest Chromebooks

Acer Inc., a Taiwan-based computer company unveiled their new Chromebooks that are built tough for classroom environment. The company revealed five new laptops (4 Chromebooks and 1 Windows convertible).

Chromebook Spin 512

The two Chromebooks namely Acer Spin 512 and Spin 511 are Intel-based convertibles. Both are powered by Intel processors N4500 and N5100, respectively. The Spin 511 is equipped with an 11.6-inch HD 16:9 display, while the Spin 512 boast a 12-inch HD+ 3:2 display. Both laptop has up to 64GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM, while battery life is rated up to 10 hours. The two laptops are also equipped with antimicrobial scratch-resistant displays, but the Spin 512 also features a similar antimicrobial coating on its keyboard and touchpad. The Spin 511 starts at $399.99 while the Spin 512 starts at $429.99 and will be available in North America from April.

In addition to the new Spin convertibles, Acer has also unveiled the 2021 versions of two of its 11-inch Chromebook laptops, the Chromebook 511 and Chromebook 311.

Chromebook 311

The new Acer Chromebook 511 powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c processor, features 4G LTE connectivity and can go for up to 20 hours on a charge. While the Chromebook 311 is powered by the MediaTek MT8183 processor and the battery can last up two 20 hours. It also has an HDR webcam and can be upgraded with an optional touchscreen display. The 311 launches this month in North America and is priced starting at $299.99, while the 511 is coming in April starting at $399.99.

The fifth laptop is the new Windows TravelMate Spin B3 laptop for education. It’s also a convertible like the other entries in the Spin lineup, with WiFi 6 connectivity and a 5-megapixel webcam on its touchscreen display. It is powered by an Intel Pentium Silver processor with as much as 12 hours of battery life. It was designed tough with military-grade durability. You can also opt to purchase it with LTE connectivity and/or with a Wacom pen. The device will be out in North America in April with prices starting at US$330.

Is The Google Pixel 3A Worth It?

So is the pixel 3a worth buying?

Definitely, yes. Specially with an the $100 discount. Even it is was released a year ago it still packed a punch. It's one of the most dependable mid-range smartphones out there specially with its camera performance, AMOLED display, and smooth software it's a bargain.

Why is the pixel 3a so cheap?

The Pixel 3A is cheap even if it has the best camera for its price that shoots great in low light because of the following:

1. It is not water resistant and doesn't have wireless charging.
2. Also internal storage is only 64GB.
3. And even if it has unlimited uploads to Google Photos it is in compressed high-quality resolution not original.

Chinese tech company Huawei said that they will add another smartphone for their P30 smartphone series, the P30 Lite New Edition. The phone will have an upgraded RAM capacity, bigger internal storage and the selfie camera will be bumped to 32MP.

Huawei Mate 10

China-based smartphone manufacturer Huawei has launched their Mate 10 series Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Lite. If you compare Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, their main difference is the shape and the screen size. Mate 10 has a 5.9-inch 2560 x 1440 LCD while the Mate 10 Pro has a 6-inch 2160 x 1080 OLED. Both of them have thin, symmetrical bezels at the top and bottom. While Mate 10 Lite which is a mid-range phone has a 5.9-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2,160 by 1,080 pixels. The Lite has a minimal bezels and doesn’t even leave enough room for a physical Home button on the bottom.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro come in “mocha brown” or “pink gold,” with additional black and gold finishes for the Mate 10 and blue and gray colorways for the Pro. They have also released a Porsche Design special edition Mate 10 that boast a “diamond black” finish. The Mate 10 is 8.2mm thick and has a fingerprint sensor below the screen; the Pro is 7.9mm and has its fingerprint sensor around the back. The Pro features IP67 waterproofing and an IR blaster, while the Mate 10 gets a headphone jack and a microSD card slot in return. The Mate 10 Lite will be available in Graphite Black and Prestige Gold.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro both feature a Kirin 970 CPU, 4GB of RAM, a 4,000mAh battery, 64GB of storage, and dual cameras with f/1.6 lenses. That camera setup includes a 20-megapixel color sensor and a secondary 12-megapixel monochrome sensor designed to gather additional luminance information and detail.

The Pro has an additional variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Porsche Design model comes with 6GB of RAM and ups the storage to 256GB.

While the Mate 10 Lite is powered by a 3,340mAh battery which isn’t removable but it supports quick charging. It also comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash memory exapandable using a microSD card by up to 256GB.
